Hop in a giant, helium-filled balloon...go to space...jump. Break three world records and the speed of sound. Land safely back on Earth. Yep, it’s about as crazy as it sounds, and one dude was crazy enough to do it!
This is a Pure Fix salute to the awesomeness that is Felix Baumgartner. Setting new world records for highest manned balloon flight and highest freefall, both at 128,100 feet, he also became the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall, reaching an estimated speed of 833.9 mph. Yep, that decimal is in the right place, over 800 mph! Felix, you are indeed a very, very awesome dude.
We can’t say a whole lot more than, well done. Oh, and we’re honored to have Felix riding around on one of our fixies! The Golf to be exact! Maybe we’re not breaking any world records, but at least we can help a triple world record holder go fast...well, fast by our standards.
